To begin we do not have on hill accommodation at the ski area at this time.
An option is to live in West Kelowna or Kelowna, with a population of 155,000 in the heart of one of Canada’s best wine and fruit growing areas. Excellent urban facilities, beautiful views of Lake Okanagan, and a great night life in Kelowna it makes it a perfect choice for those who cannot live without all of those city amenities.

Accommodation, Cost of Living and Wages
The fall and early ski season are very busy times at Crystal Mountain Resort. Many prospective employees are arriving for job interviews and work. Also everyone is looking for a place to stay during the winter. Currently Crystal Mountain does not provide staff accommodation. We recommend that you arrive with pre-booked accommodation.
The average entry level job at Crystal Mountain has a starting wage of $10.25 per hour and most staff
work from 28 to 40 hours per week.
The average employee pays from $450 to $550 per month for shared accommodations. This ranges from several friends renting a house to two to four folks renting a one-bedroom condo. To help you in your search here are a couple of links for hostels Kelowna International Hostel or Same sun hostel .
Crystal’s winter season can start as early as mid November or as late as mid December. Because of this, some time can pass between your successful job interview and your employment start date. To deal with this time you should come with sufficient money to carry you for at least one month.
Employee Benefits and Discount Program
For all full time employees who commit to a full season at Crystal Mountain Resort, the skiing and riding is free. You'll receive a complimentary mountain staff season pass. This pass gives you access to great Canadian powder and terrain that varies from well groomed cruisers to some challenging winter terrain. The staff pass gives you deals that includes discounts on skis and snowboards, other retail items, rentals and great lessons.
In addition, Crystal Mountain employees are eligible to ski and ride for free or at great discounted rates at over twenty ski resorts spread across British Columbia, Alberta.
Personal Grooming
At Crystal Mountain Resort we always work to project a positive image for ourselves and for the resort. We welcome guests from all over the world and we rely on our team members to use good judgment and commit to their position at Crystal Mountain. To help accomplish this, all Crystal Mountain staff must maintain a professional, clean, crisp appearance.
Foreign Applicants
To work at Crystal Mountain Resort, you must be a Canadian citizen or you must have a valid Canadian Visa and Work Permit. All foreign workers must present a Canadian Visa and Work Permit, a Canadian Social Insurance Number, or proof that you have already applied for your Canadian Social Insurance Number and a copy of your travel insurance.
Getting all of these items together can take some time; so start early. You should immediately apply for your Canadian Social Insurance Number upon your arrival in Canada. You can apply from your home country but it involves a lengthy process. All foreign applicants must provide proof of valid traveler’s insurance for the duration of your employment with Crystal Mountain. Medical coverage is an important consideration for all foreign travelers while in Canada.

Ski & snowboard instructors: Officially recognized by the Canadian Ski Instructor’s Alliance and the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors, our snowsports school only employs instructors certified by these organizations or from equivalent international organizations. If interested applicants are not certified but possess the skills to become certified, they are invited to attend a certification course.
